Somehow life can take you away from your true vocation. I had always been interested in art and craft from an early age, and I can’t remember a time when I didn’t enjoy making things… decorating eggs for the family at Easter, making presents for birthdays and Christmas and over the years to dressmaking, quilting and patchwork, picture framing, upholstery projects and yes… painting!
I always dreamed of setting up my own shop which sold beautiful arts and crafts artefacts. But marriage, children, a career in publishing and marketing all followed. It wasn’t until I met some designers in the Custard Factory in Birmingham who introduced me to the wonders of chalk paint and how popular it was becoming that a seed began to germinate!
